Commissioner for Liquor and Gaming

From 1 January 2013, a single Commissioner replaced the Queensland Liquor and Gaming Commission. The current Commissioner for Liquor and Gaming is Mr David Ford.

Mr Ford is also the current Deputy Director-General for Liquor, Gaming and Fair Trading in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General. Mr Ford has held the position since February 2011, after the liquor, gaming and fair trading functions moved from the former Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, where he held a similar position. Mr Ford also holds the statutory position of Commissioner for Fair Trading. For a decade, he served as Executive Director of the Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation within Queensland Treasury.

Mr Ford is currently a member of the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee. He has been a board member of the South Bank Corporation and each of the Breakwater Island Casino, Jupiters Casino, Reef Hotel Casino and Gambling Community Benefit funds.
